Movies On Demand from Consequence and G.O.O.D. music is 13 tracks done right. I'd suggest checking out the mixtape. If you liked "The More I Get" ft. Rick Ross, that track with the pendergrass sample, then you'll be vibin out to every beat on this mix. And Cons has got that wordplay to keep you interested in every track. I'd been pretty impressed with the wide variety of features, from The Boss to Asher Roth, Pharoahe Monch to Q-Tip and Talib Kweli. This is absolute album quality available for free. And you know all the G.O.O.D. boys got themselves on at least one track each.

As much as I love to keep busy with painting and drawing, I've always found that I need a complete break from it every six months or so, just for a couple weeks. Clear my thoughts and get back to the creative process. I decided on this hiatus to force myself to record more music.

I found a pack of beat samples on youtube from a guy named Jonesy. check his blog at www.jonesytheofficial.com

He put 16 bar samples of a few different beats together onto one track with an intro and an outro. As soon as I played the intro on youtube I knew I had to download it and record over it. I wrote all the verses yesterday afternoon and recorded them in the evening. It's been a great start to the hiatus as it let me get some stuff off my chest and tell a few stories... enjoy!

Some new scibbles
PBR came and left, only hanging in the house for a few hours.
Posted some photos from the cabin basement.
I walked down into the basement to find an antique double sink vanity.
On top of the vanity was an old Technics turntable like I've never seen before.
There was a kitchen table littered with albums on vinyl. On either side of the vanity was the jackpot.
Two tall bookshelves full of old albums.
I want one of these turntables

staying at this cabin again for a week-ish. stunningly large and full of wood, its amazing. plus internet and satellite tv? if only i brought my paints. my cabin painting is hanging in the basement of the painted cabin which is pretty cool too. i'm too lazy to upload any new photos today but i've got some cool flicks and video clips from my missions in the cabin, stay tuned.

its christmas time in the city

my family is sweet. i just finished 4 christmas' at different houses and it reminded me why i love the holidays, i usually hate the holidays until about noon on the 24th and then i get excited. this year i had my 2 year old niece in town and watching her on christmas eve and christmas morning was definitely my highlight. plus some of the cool gifts i got, including the drum set i wasn't expecting! and of course, 7 new canvas' to work on. a few new commissions lined up for the new year and an opportunity to put some stuff up for sale in a new coffee shop in town. 2010 could be the year of the Langford, just a heads up.
all that being said, i didn't have much time to work on paintings for the last week or so, but heres an update on the bridge canvas.

having a tough time putting a price on this one because of all the offers i've got... i have a feeling its getting a little more pricey then the commissioner had anticipated. but quite honestly, as a starving artist, i need to take the highest bid. can you blame me? or would that be considered "selling out"?

i got this silk screen kit from my moms for xmas last year. and we got the current brothers collaborative contributors together to test it out. after one evening session, we locked down the basics. the shade (as awkward as it can get at times) picked up a bigger screen and we've now got the ability to print full print t's and hoodies with a played out all-over print if we wanted... not that we do.
but keep your eyes peeled for broscollab posters, shirts, and other random printables probably not for sale.

not a post since the death of MJ. I'm sorry for both.
I've been having a tough time dealing with this Michael situation.
It disgusts me to no end how the media is suddenly back on his side as a creative genius.
They brought him up as a child, then ripped him apart his whole life.
Then he dies so they love him again, and now they're re-ripping on him for his drug use.
I have to leave it at that, or I will get into a full length novel about my distaste for this whole extravagant mess.
In the mean time, enjoy some of my favorites from the last month.

And yes, I still eat my pizza with a fork and knife. Get off my cloud.

Finally, I've been slipping with my canvas work in the last little while. But its only increased my pencil and paper work as well as some upcoming spraypaint jobs.

I had an idea for a Michael Jackson tribute shirt, but so far I haven't put it together in a way that perfectly reflects the king... hold tight.

About the Idea

Just a little bit about where I hope this thing goes, from here.
I set this up as an outlet for not only myself, but the people close to me. Getting artwork, photo's and ideas out to the public is a lot easier said then done. With a GROUP Collaborative each person will be bringing there own unique ideas, as well as there own group of friends to view the site. In turn, those viewers will get to see not only there friends work, but other associated artists work. I'm hoping this allows us to reach a broader spectrum of viewers.
Keep that in mind while you're looking through the blog, and if you find something you think a friend might like, email them a link, and keep the ball moving.
Certainly everyone isn't going to agree with ideas, or opinions, but its the diversity you will find on this site that WE hope will keep you coming back.
